The "The impact of high-energy astrophysics experiments on cosmological physics" workshop will take place from October 27-28 in Chicago IL at the University of Chicago. The workshop is being hosted by the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics.

The Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics is located in The Laboratory for Astrophysics and Space Research (LASR) building at the University of Chicago main campus (Hyde Park). The workshop will take place at the LASR conference room (# 152).

KICP's official address is 933 East 56th Street, Chicago, IL 60637. Please notice however that this entrance (North entrance) is only accessible by key. To enter KICP pease walk around the building and use the South Entrance.

• Head west on E 59th St - walk 0.4 mi
• Turn right at S University Ave - walk 0.3 mi

• Turn right onto the first walkway on your right (between the Biopsychological Research Center on your right and the Biological Sciences Learning Center on your left). The main entrance to the LASR building is at the far north end of the walkway.

Taxis from O'Hare airport costs about $60+ tip; taxis from Midway cost about $35+tip.

The Omega Airport Shuttle runs between O'Hare Airport and Hyde Park every hour from early in the morning to late evening. Reservations are not required. Schedule and fare information is available at the Omega Shuttle website. If taking the Omega Shuttle ask to be dropped off at the International House (1414 East 59th Street). This is one of the shuttle regular stops).

Hyde Park is connected to downtown Chicago by the Metra Train (not to be confused with the subway trains) and several CTA bus routes. Take the Metra Train from Randolph or Van Buren Street and Michigan Avenue (downtown Chicago) to 57th Street (if coming to the KICP directly) OR at 59th Street (if going to the International House). Then follow the map for directions. Similarly, you can take take either the #6 Jackson Park Express or #28 Stoney Island Express buses from downtown Chicago to 57th St (for KICP) or 59th St (for I-house).

Please check Google maps for directions to the most convenient visitor parking garage (5535 S Ellis Ave, Chicago, IL 60637). The parking fee is $12 a day (or part thereof for shorter durations). The parking fee may be paid by cash or credit card. From the parking structure, walk two blocks south to 57th Street and turn right (west). Turn right again onto the first walkway on your right (between the Biopsychological Research Center on your right and the Biological Sciences Learning Center on your left). The main entrance to the LASR building is at the far north end of the walkway.

The KICP has reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza hotel in downtown Chicago ($189 per night), but you are also encouraged to consider the (more economical and convenient) International House at the University campus ($60 or $70 per night for a dorm-style room with shared bathroom).
